Booking Through Thursday #31

Booking Through Thursday

Yesterday, April 15th, was Tax Day here in the U.S., which means lots of lucky people will get refunds of over-paid taxes.

Whether you’re one of them or not, what would you spend an unexpected windfall on? Say … $50? How about $500?

(And, this is a reading meme, so by rights the answer should be book-related, but hey, feel free to go wild and splurge on anything you like.)

This is a tough question.  According to my tax return (they are due this month in Canada as well) I should be getting a significant return.  Being a spender I’m trying to curb this habit of spending money as soon as it gets into my hands.  I’m also trying to be rather diligent in getting my TBR down to a manageable number, this is proving to be difficult as there are also more books I want to get my hands on.

So an honest answer to this question would be I plan on putting this money into a savings account.  What a dull answer is this?  If I could do anything book related with this cash I think I’d go on a huge spending spree and get a large collection of new and used books as well other book type things like some great book ends.

On the other hand what I would really like to do is make a trip to the SPCA and get a puppy that would be my little reading companion.  Nothing better than reading and having your dog laying beside you.

Oh the dreams I have of spending this money…if only I wasn’t trying to be a responsible person.  Happy reading!

  1. OMG… I am so with you on the TBR : books brought in – ratio needing balanced! I’m trying to read and NOT get books… I actually had a hole in Mt. TBR for my efforts, until I went crazy and mooched and bought up 3 times as many as I sent out. I’ve given up on resolutions and proclamations, because I know I’m gonna break them!
